Chandni Samer belongs to a small village of Muzaffarpur district, Bihar. Even though born in middle class family she completed master degree. She had been writing since childhood, hence she started writing at the tender age of 10. Right now she is a govt. Teacher. And as well as an author.
She is more interested in writing on social issues. And the subject of woman is close to heart. She feels even in present era women have not equal right and status in society. So women should stand and fight for their rights. Chandni’s first book Vedna ki udan is a small step towards this endeavour.
Q. How did you come up with the idea of writing this genre?
When I went in high school many changes began to lane in my life. I was told being a girl you should do this you should not do this, you should not go there you should not wear this type of dress. Means many changes began to come in my life. While i was a very open minded girl. I liked to fly on my bicycle. I liked jeans. But i was prohibited to do that. It was a start of that thought of my book. All these thoughts of discrimination kept running in my mind. For 2-3 years these thoughts were germinated in my mind. During these i got more experience about girl’s life. Their dreams their barriers. And then i decided to write a book based on girl’s life and dreams.
Q. Where did you find the inspiration to write this book?
As I mentioned above my own life was the first inspiration of writing this book. Later whole girls became my inspiration. Because i felt every girl has a dream to live their life on her own terms but due to sanskar, fear they surpass their wish. I want to keep out that pain that squirm.
Q. What exactly does your book convey?
My book just want to show the pain the wriggle of every girl about her dreams and her life. As well as i want the society to know to be aware of those daily life problems a girl faces. So that in this book i have mentioned all those even little issues on which no one mind ever but a girl has to suffer. Like teasing on the way tactile in the vehicle. Many these type of issues are there mentioned in thus book. Panchi (heroin) asks why the domestic work is essential for me even if i m not interested? Why is my brother not responsible for cooking?? The petty discrimination what is available in our society i want to show that.
Q. What all was going in your head while penning down this book?
When I was writing this book i had one and only thing in my mind to explore the girls’ life fully. To let the society know the reality of girls’ life. So society would become aware of the equality for girls. And girls would get a chance to live her dreams, live their life on their own conditions.
Q. How much time you used to commit this book.?
8 years. Actually i started this book as very tender age in 2008 and completed it in 2016. During these years actually i became very busy in my study and job that i couldn’t pay proper attention on it. And actually whatever i have written in this book it can’t be written if i completed the book soon. Because during these 8 years i got lots of experience. I knew the girls’ life deeply. So it was quite beneficial to take this much time yo write this book.
Q. Was there any moment you backed off from the idea of writing book?
No. Even if i was not continue on writing but still i had an idea an ambition to complete this book. Because this book is not only for making me writing but it is a massage i want to spread in the society. Because i have felt the agony of being girl.
